Help & Documentation

Everything you need to know about using Anchored Hope for craving management and prayer support.

What is Anchored Hope?

Anchored Hope is a free web application designed for people in recovery from addiction. When cravings hit, it provides a structured, guided process to help you pause, understand what you're feeling, and work through it using evidence-based coping tools.

Optionally, you can send an anonymous prayer request to a community of Prayer Warriors — real people who receive and pray for you without ever knowing your identity.

For Recovery Users

Starting a Crisis Session

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Click the “I'm Having a Craving” button on your dashboard
  3. A 15-minute timer starts — this is your guided session time
  4. Complete the HALT+B check-in (6 awareness questions)
  5. Choose a coping tool that feels right
  6. Optionally send a prayer request
  7. End your session when you're ready

The HALT+B Assessment

HALT+B is a recovery framework that stands for Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired + Bored(we also add Stressed). It helps you identify what's really driving a craving, because often cravings are triggered by unmet needs, not just the substance itself.

QuestionWhat It Means
Am I hungry?Physical needs may be driving the craving
Am I angry?Unprocessed emotions may be building up
Am I lonely?Connection and support may be needed
Am I tired?Rest and self-care may help
Am I bored?Engagement and purpose may be missing
Am I stressed?Stress management tools may help
